The Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with higher education institutions, local specialized bodies in the field of education and high schools of the country, launched the "Learn in Moldova" national campaign to promote university studies on February 27, 2025. The objective of this campaign is to inform as many high school graduates and college students as possible about the study opportunities they have at home.
"In recent years, our university education system, with the involvement of the ministry, universities and university communities and with the support of our development partners, has undergone significant change and today we are at the stage when we can say, with certainty, that we have something to offer here, in the Republic of Moldova, to our graduates, including the best of them - competitive education at European standards. The goal of the campaign is to reach as many of them as possible and convince them of the opportunities they have at the country’s universities", stated Minister Dan Perciun during the launch conference.
The official has specified that thanks to the investments made in the last four years, higher education institutions of the country have modern classrooms for learning, new study programs, high-performance research laboratories, endowed with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies, some of which are unique in the Republic of Moldova, which meet the contemporary and future educational requirements of the labor market.
The event was also attended by rectors of higher education institutions, including the rector of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Professor Emil Ceban delivered a speech as President of the Council of Rectors of the Republic of Moldova, emphasizing that "by modernizing the educational infrastructure and university curricula, we can provide students with access to quality studies and applied learning opportunities in areas essential for the country. All our universities and study programs are accredited nationally, and some of them internationally as well. We assure you that the studies offered are of the highest quality, and future specialists in various fields will easily be able to engage in professional activity in the Republic of Moldova. We urge you to stay and study in the country where you were born and raised, to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills, to subsequently apply them in your professional activity and contribute to the prosperity of our country".
Alexandru Gaitur, a first-year student at the Faculty of Medicine No. 1, present at the event, came with a message for high school graduates: "I chose to study at Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy out of an enormous desire, but also the honor of studying medicine. This is more than my professional training - it is a responsibility and my own duty to bring a change here, in my country!".
